BANKSANDS AND PRISON ISLAND.  FULL DAY EXCURSION. 
Departure in the morning at about 8.30am. After approximately 40 minutes drive by minibus, we will get to the West coast of Zanzibar, at Stone Town Pier, where we will find the “Nakupenda” Staff - boat trip leaders - waiting for us. We will board on a beautiful local boat to sail to PRISON ISLAND, historical site once used by Arab rulers for the detention of disobedient salves. Apart from the ruins of the old prison, we will also get a chance to see a large population of protected giant tortoises, brought from the Seychelles Islands. After the visit we can relax: the sea is excellent for swimming and watching multicoloured fish and coral reef. Then we will sail to reach an unspoiled atoll surrounded by a  dreamy bank sand just in front of Stone Town. Crystal clear waters to swim and snorkel, sand as soft as flour to relax or sunbathe, will be the enchanting landscape of the trip of today. At lunch time “Nakupenda” Staff will prepare a rich buffet full of handmade Zanzibari delicacy and tasteful typical dishes of the Italian Sardinia island: fresh cheeses such as ricotta cheese, meat rolls and grilled seafood enriched with fresh wine, beer and fruit juices. In the afternoon we will go back to Stone Town where our minibus will take us back to the Hotel at about 6.00pm.
